The Warren Group

The current focus of our laboratory is to elucidate the fundamental conserved molecular mechanisms that control ribosome maturation and to understand how defects in this process result in human disease. Using a multidisciplinary approach, we combine genetic approaches in model organisms with high-resolution structural studies using NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. Our long-term goal is to use the insights obtained from our studies to develop novel approaches to cancer therapy.

We are based in the PNAC Division of the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, but are also members of the University of Cambridge Department of Haematology. We acknowledge generous support from Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, the Association for International Cancer Research and the Medical Research Council.
