KJ PatelKJ Patel

I am originally from Kenya and first came to the UK to study. After finishing medical school I completed a PhD at the LMB with Michael Neuberger in immunology. After a brief spell in medicine I returned to LMB as an MRC Clinician Scientist fellow to work with Ashok Venkitaraman. The work I did then led to an interest in chromosome breakage syndromes. Since 2000 I have been running my own research group at LMB, I was initially supported by the award of on MRC Snr Clinical Research Fellowship and then subsequently by the LMB.

Gerry CrossanGerry Crossan (PhD student)

Gerry comes from Belfast where he is a medical student having gained a top 1st intercalated BSc. In 2008 he was awarded an MRC LMB PhD studentship. Currently he works on developing new mouse models for crosslink repair.

Judith LangenickJudith Langenick (Postdoc)

Judith did her BSc in Dundee where she got a first. She then did her PhD in Jeff William’s lab on signalling in Dictyostelium. After a brief stint in Heidelberg as a postdoc she joined our lab in 2008. Judith carries on the work done by XY Zhang on DNA crosslink repair in Dictyostelium.

Fred LangevinFred Langevin (PhD student)

Fred is from France and came to Cambridge as a Master Student at the Gurdon Institute. After completing his degree from the Ecole Superieure de Biotechnologie, University of Strasbourg, he joined our group in November 2004 as a research assistant. Fred's main work, together with Arno, focused on the FA core complex by generating knock out and in situ tagged cell lines in the DT40 system. Since October 2007, Fred has decided to pursue a PhD in the lab. He is now focusing on developing knock out mouse models of Fanconi Anemia in order to study the disease at the whole organism level. Outside the lab, Fred's interests lie in photography and sport (cycling and football). Fred is supported by a grant from the Children with Leukaemia trust.

Michael HodskinsonMichael Hodskinson (Postdoc)

Michael did his BSc in Nottingham University. He then moved to Sheffield where he worked with Prof John Sayers for PhD on nucleases. Michael is supported by a postdoctoral fellowship from the LRF and is currently working on the biochemistry of crosslink repair.

Ivan RosadoIvan Rosado (Post Doc)

Ivan V. Rosado is originally from Seville, Spain. During his BSc he joined as undergraduated research to Prof Tahia Benitez's lab, studying cell wall morphogenesis in Trichoderma harzianun. He conducted his PhD at Dept. of Genetics University of Sevilla, in Jesus de la Cruz's lab studying 60S ribosomal subunit's biogenesis in budding yeast. He joined our group as a postdoc on August 2008 and is funded by a personal FEBS fellowship.

Meera SivasubraminiumMeera Sivasubraminium (Postdoc)

Meera completed her PhD in Sheffield prior to joining our lab. Meera works on the biochemistry of crosslink repair.
