Our main interests are in vitro evolution and its application to protein engineering and functional genomics.

In vitro selection methods are powerful tools for the investigation of protein and nucleic acid structure and function at the molecular level.

Our work is aimed at:

1) Creating novel selection technologies for applications in protein engineering and functional genomics.

2) Their application to specific problems e.g. the the investigation of the molecular basis of existing phenotypes or the directed evolution of novel phenotypes.

3) The application of selection technologies in combination with array screening to the annotation of gene function on a genome-wide scale.
