Only one application per round is permitted. Applicants should discuss their proposed application with the group leader at an early stage. A letter of support from the group leader must accompany the application. There are likely to be limitations on the number of applicants that can be supported. Formal applications (once group leader support has been secured) will only be accepted through the MRC e-recruitment web page (www.mrc.ac.uk then ‘vacancies’) where the fellowship scheme will be listed under LMB International Fellowship. The web link will open in September 2009. Applicants should attach the following to their application:

Details of the criteria for selection are included in the person specification, and you are advised to address these requirements in your covering letter. Successful candidates are likely to have at least one first author paper accepted for publication in a recognised peer reviewed journal by the time the application is submitted.
Review of applications: Applications for fellowships will be considered by a committee representing each of the four Divisions in the LMB. Members of the committee will not themselves be sponsoring any fellowship application. Short listed candidates will be invited for interview at LMB. The LMB will meet reasonable costs of attending for interview (economy airfare etc). Final decisions are made by the LMB Executive Committee (Director, Deputy Director and Heads of Division of the LMB) on the recommendation of the committee The award of a fellowship will be dependent on meeting any requirements for a work permit and/or visa.
