The Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) carries out cutting edge research on the basic understanding of molecular and cellular biology. This work is helping to pave the way for key developments in medicine and health care.
The LMB’s experts work closely with other scientists to support research to improve human health, and with industry to promote the commercialisation of LMB research for the benefit of the UK economy. Our scientists also work with schools, colleges and a range of other organisations to inform people of all ages about our work and to inspire and enthuse them about science.
To find out more about the LMB’s work see our achievements, browse the LMB News items or visit the About LMB web page.
Increasing public involvement in science
Every year, we organise, or take part in, a range of public events to help adults and children to understand our work and its impact on society.
Working with schools and colleges
Our researchers work with a range of schools and colleges in the Cambridgeshire area - inspiring hundreds of young people about science and careers in molecular biology.
