I completed my Undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at Queen Mary University of London in 2018. I then completed an MRes in Biomedical Research at Imperial College London, where I carried out two six-month research projects. The first involved characterising the phosphorylated SMAD3-SMAD4 complex using a range of biochemical and biophysical techniques under the supervision of Svend Kjaer and Caroline Hill, at The Francis Crick Institute. For my second project I worked with Elizabeth Want at Imperial College London to evaluate the metabolic workflow using two UPLC-MS approaches, in the application of early pregnancy loss. Prior to joining Simon\u2019s lab, I spent two years as a Research Support Assistant in Venki Ramakrishnan\u2019s group at LMB where I worked on the ribosome-associated quality control mechanism in mitochondrial translation and the co-translational import of mitochondrial proteins. I started my PhD in Simon\u2019s lab in 2021; my project builds upon previous work aiming to identify novel players in dynein mediated transport.<\/p>\n
