During my undergraduate studies, I spent a year as a placement student in Anne Ephrussi\u2019s group at EMBL Heidelberg, which included a working visit to the Bullock group at the LMB. During this year, I used biochemical and single-molecule imaging techniques to investigate how kinesin-1 and dynein motors coordinate mRNA transport during\u00a0<em>Drosophila<\/em> development. Several months later, I completed my final year undergraduate research project in Anna Chambers\u2019 group. Over the course of three months, I investigated the interplay between yeast Irc5 and Sae2 as part of the DNA damage response, with a focus on the homeostasis of DNA-RNA hybrids and double-stranded break repair.
