Whilst at NIMR, I developed a strong interest in how cell biological mechanisms contribute to developmental processes. In 1999, I moved to the Imperial Cancer Research Fund\/Cancer Research UK London Research Institute for a post-doc with David Ish-Horowicz working on the mechanisms and functions of mRNA transport in Drosophila embryos. I started my own group here at the LMB in September 2004.
