Life at LMB montage
The LMB attracts some of the best individuals from around the world, all at different stages of their careers, supporting long-term basic research aimed at answering fundamental biological questions. The combination of a close-knit community of highly-interactive researchers, freely-shared resources and the sense of a common history create an inspiring environment for flourishing scientists.

“The LMB provides an unsurpassed environment for both new and established researchers. Our scientists are drawn from all over the world, creating a lively international community for the exchange of ideas and technical innovation. Many are inspired by the knowledge that discoveries made at the LMB have made a difference to the world, and will continue to do so.”

Jan Löwe,
LMB Director

Situated about 3 miles south of Cambridge city centre, on the expanding Cambridge Biomedical Campus, the LMB offers the opportunity to work in one of the world’s most internationally competitive concentrations of biomedical talent. The Campus has excellent travel links and boasts countryside walks, a sports centre, nurseries, shops and residential accommodation.

The LMB is committed to supporting scientists and others wishing to combine family life with a career through our family-friendly policies. We aim to recruit the best staff based on academic success, irrespective of nationality, ethnic origin or gender.
