Release 1.4 (September 2015)
Release 1.3 (June 2014)
This release is a big step in the evolution of RELION from a stand-alone refinement program into a convenient pipeline for most of the single-particle analysis. It's main new features are:
- a movie-processing procedure for small (sub-Megadalton) particles (Scheres, eLife 2014)
- a template-matching based (semi-)automated particle picking procedure (Scheres, J. Struct. Biol. 2015)
- a new GUI with image-displaying functionalities. Just click your way through the entire image processing pipeline: so no more "awk" commands to select particles or .csh scripts to group them!
Release 1.2 (June 2013)
Apart from bug fixes and code optimisation, release 1.2 has two new main features:
- a statistical movie-processing procedure (Bai et al, eLife 2013)
- a semi-automated post-processing procedure (for improved resolution estimates after masking, MTF correction and B-factor sharpening; Chen et al, Ultramicroscopy 2013 )
Release 1.1 (September 2012)
Release 1.1 implements:
- convenient preprocessing procedures
- a fully automated refinement procedure (3D auto-refine) for homogeneous data sets, employing "gold-standard" FSC calculations (Chen&Scheres, Nat. Methods 2012, Scheres, J. Struct. Biol. 2012)
