AF: “I wanted to mix Neurotechnology and The Teenage Brain in my final piece. Deep brain stimulation is a really good example of neurotechnology and the link between that and the teenage brain is if a teenager would have Parkinson’s they would feel like they were closed inside of their body. That’s why I drew the handcuffs to show closeness.”
Judges comments: “It was confusing to have the two topics merged in this way, especially as teenagers almost never develop Parkinson’s Disease!
Beautiful glasswork, especially the brain showing damage in the basal ganglia.
