MG: “For this piece I was inspired by my own personal experiences of Anxiety. Although I have many different coping mechanisms the main ˜give away” for my state of mind are my hands as I tend to twist my fingers when I am feeling anxious. It was this concept that led me to the idea of using sign language as a method of conveying information because although I am trying to conceal my anxiety, I am subconsciously displaying my nerves through my body language. The background consists of the graphics and colours used in the packaging of the medication that I take to control the symptoms.”
Judges comments: “Excellent technical skill and graphical understanding. A really interesting personal take, perhaps not relevant to the topic.
