EK-P: “The portrait reflects the apparent rise in teenage depression. This increase in depression has resulted in many individuals self-harming, my portrait portrays this from the golden tears. Gold is thought as precious and valuable, this is represented in the tears as they are also precious and valuable. Depression in female teenagers occurs more than male, I therefore felt it appropriate to a female model.”
