LS: “I collected a lot of research materials on the human body and on robots. During my search I found Leonardo Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man diagram which interested me as I liked the idea of the old journalist’s diary diagram sketches and details that fitted together. Before finding the Vitruvian Man diagram I found a picture of Leonardo’s first robot invention that was only used to show the movements of the human body. This inspired me to connect the two together and to create a painting piece that will show the differences/similarities and advantages between humanity and robotics.”
Judges comments: “A very interesting use of imagery, executed with a high level of skill.
Good observation and creativity.
A good depiction of the influence of medical technology merging with the human.”
