Tina Drobnic
I am a structural biologist with an interest in function and evolution of prokaryotic cellular machinery. I studied Biochemistry at Imperial College London, where I completed my PhD investigating the protein makeup and evolution of the bacterial flagellar motor of Campylobacter jejuni by a combination of computational, genetic, and cryoEM approaches. In my postdoc, I work closely with the Baum group, looking into archaeal ESCRT-III polymers. My current research leverages my cryoEM skills to understand how components of the cell division machinery of Sulfolobus acidocaldarius assemble and drive cell division.
