TC: “I studied the structure of a spine working in different media such as clay, wire, egg boxes and paper to replicate it and to make it personal, I measured my own spine and worked from that. Once I knew the structure of the spine, it was easier to replicate the vertebras by creating similar sculptures.”
Judges comments: “Fantastic range of work demonstrating great technical skill whilst at the same time illustrating medical conditions. Would have benefited from the confidence in show casing only one or two works and trusting the properties of the materials.”
