Title : Future Memories

Category : The Teenage Brain

JF: “My piece of artwork is about building memories which will happen in the future between two teenagers who love each other. I got my inspiration from watching romantic films, when people go on dates and share romantic moments and how their love grows. Then l thought about how l could express this by using simple symbols that sets the scene about how they feel about each other without using sound or words. This is why l choose to use two hands joined together in shape of a love heart. I looked on the internet to find examples of hand shapes, love hearts and different back grounds l could use. I printed and cut these out. When choosing the back ground for my picture l researched different scenes and ways to draw them. I believe that using certain colours make you think of warm happy thoughts, holidays and love, so l thought a sunset represents this well. In my research l also tested out lots of materials to create the prefect sunset. I tired chalks, oil based pastels, colouring pencils, Indian ink and water colour paint. I decided to use Indian ink and coloured pencils because l thought they worked together well, with a ray of different colours that l could blend easily together to create a nice effect”
