AM: “I wanted to look at memory, happy memories, the memory of travel and finding out about new and different things and people.
I cut out the shape of a human brain and filled the shape with printed maps of different countries, choosing diverse colours, shapes and line. I then added travel pictures from magazines, focussing on cultural diversity, different ages, emotions & experiences.
Such powerful new experiences form strong memories. Presenting the piece as a kind of travel diary helped to emphasize this.”
