AP: “My piece of art was created around the idea of a taking out the old and rewriting the new. This is why I chose to represent the teenage brain with a computer because the computers are always updating themselves, I represented the change in the brain by showing the computer rewriting their software. I have also incorporated the idea that the DNA is changing how the brain works into my piece. I chose to use the acrylic paints as my media because it gives a rough texture and means that more senses can be used to experience the art, as in the adolescence years the senses are enhanced as we adapt to the outside world. My work has been mounted to emphasize the colours and features that I have chosen to include, permanent marker is used to outline shapes to create a focal point.”
