LR: “My piece is based on a teenager’s reflection of self-image. As teenagers, self-image is a significant factor of life and everybody believes they should look or dress a certain way or idolise different celebrities and figures. My drawing shows a natural looking, make up free teenage girl and beneath her the same girl, but after she’s tried to become Barbie, a “perfect” girl. The two pictures represent the “before” and “after” idea of how teenagers try and dramatically change their image to how they think society will accept them, rather than how they naturally look.”
