JW: “My clay work is linked to neuron patterns. In a lot of my pieces I focused on neuron pathways. I have created a collection of tiles, vessels and curved plaques. Within my work I have concentrated on repetitive designs and different textures. I was inspired by artists such as Antoni Gaudi and Chris Gryder. The colours that I have used in my work are inspired by shades and tones that Hanne Mannheimer uses in her art.”
Judges comments: “A well executed set of work. We would have preferred to see a less abstract approach to the science.”
