What do you do in the O’Neill lab?
I’m a PhD student.
What is your favourite thing about being in the O’Neill Lab?
I like the people and the social things. And the science!
Do you have a favourite piece of scientific trivia?
The fact that 98% of the atoms in the human body are replaced every year. So you are literally not the person that you were 5 years ago, in terms of composition.
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Some kind of vegetable frittata.
If you had super-power, what would it be?
Teleportation.

What do you do in the O’Neill lab?
I spend most of my time replying to emails. The rest of the time, I tend to chat, and if I’m very lucky, I get to do an experiment.
Do you have a favourite piece of scientific trivia?
Peter Mitchell (my scientific hero), retreated to his summer house in Cornwall (or Somerset or somewhere) and did this phenomenal series of experiments in order to demonstrate the chemiosmotic hypothesis. I think it’s a shame that there isn’t more of that still going on…I would love to retire to my shed and pootle around doing experiments.
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Tomatoes dipped in cheese.
If you had super-power, what would it be?
The ability to stop time.
