I am interested both in the improvement of methods for high resolution electron cryomicroscopy and in determining the structure of membrane proteins and membrane protein complexes using single particle electron cryomicroscopy.

Our group at MRC-LMB is also deeply involved in a HORIZON 2020 project together with the Thermo Fisher Scientific company which supplies analytical instruments in the life sciences and the image sensor company IMASENIC based in Barcelona. The DeCEMIS project has developed a high performance 4 megapixel detector optimised for 100 keV electron images. For the latest information, see here
