The annual LMB Arts and Crafts Show returned on the 19th July, following the cancellation of last year’s event, in time to brighten up the LMB atrium and welcome back people returning to the building. The show, which has run for over 10 years, is a chance for people at the LMB to showcase their creative talents. A wide range of lovely handmade items were on display, including: paintings, photography, pottery, jewellery, paper crafts, needlework, knitting and crochet, model making, mosaics and handmade soaps.
The LMB Craft and Chatter group also put together a display of rainbow inspired handmade gifts, in honour of the work of the NHS, including colourful decorations, pencil toppers, cards and a fabulous crocheted dream-catcher. The group have continued to meet during the past year, via zoom, but look forward to meeting in person again soon. The items they produced for the show were sold for charity, with the money raised put towards the LMB’s 2021 Christmas charity.
David Street, organiser of the show, commented: “It was wonderful to be able to put the show on this year and discover the many different arts and crafts that LMB people engage with. As always, the show has brought a bright, splash of colour to the atrium and we thank all of those who participated and shared their works.”
