The annual LMB Christmas charity raffle, and Craft and Chatter group Christmas sale, has raised £1526.20 for the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.
The Arthur Rank Hospice Charity was founded in 1981 to support people living in Cambridgeshire with an advanced serious illness or a life-limiting condition and those in need of end-of-life care. They care for more than 4,100 patients each year at their Hospice in Cambridgeshire, the Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre in Wisbech and in patients’ own homes via the Arthur Rank Community Team. Their outstanding care is provided free of charge to patients and their families.
“Making every moment count. That’s what the Hospice is all about”, says Ian Kydd, representative from the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.
The LMB raffle has taken place since the early 1970s and each year a charity is chosen because of the support it has provided for members of the LMB and their families. Since 2000, it has raised in excess of £30,000 for local and national charities.
For the last few years, this donation has been enhanced by the LMB’s Craft and Chatter Group, who have raised funds at their Christmas craft sale. This year they added £407 towards the donation with the sale of a large variety of handmade items, including decorations, cards and gifts.
The LMB thanks all of those who have helped make these events a success, and wishes everyone all the best for 2023.
