The annual LMB Christmas charity raffle and craft sale has raised over £1600 for The North West Anglia Hospitals’ Charity – Woodlands Centre at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. The charity was chosen in memory of Annette Faux, who was the LMB’s dedicated Archivist for over 20 years.
The North West Anglia Hospitals’ Charity supports the work of the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, ensuring that they continue to provide outstanding care to their local communities. They offer assistance in many ways, including funding facilities and equipment to enhance the patient experience, supporting research programmes, and helping to develop new services and education opportunities.
The LMB raffle has taken place since the early 1970s and each year a charity is chosen because of the support it has provided for members of the LMB and their families. Since 2000, it has raised in excess of £31,500 for local and national charities.
For the last few years, this donation has been enhanced by the LMB’s Craft and Chatter Group, who have raised funds with a Christmas craft sale. This year they added over £300 towards the donation with the sale of a large variety of handmade items, including decorations, cards, and gifts.
The LMB thanks all those who have helped make these events a success and wishes everyone all the best for 2024.
