Hans Boye

Hans Boye was a research student with Francis Crick from October 1961-1964, and was Crick’s second and last student. His area of research was on how mRNA associates with ribosomes in protein synthesis. Hans was also a keen amateur photographer and took photographs of the ‘Hut’, and of the party to celebrate the 1962 Nobel Prize for John Kendrew and Max Perutz. He also took the only known cinefilm of Crick at the first lab talks in 1962, and saved the only known audio records of these lab talks. With Anand Sarabhai he produced a small film of the LMB at about the same time. He has been a great supporter and contributer to the LMB archives.
