Heartburn drug could be effective TB treatment

New research from Lalita Ramakrishnan’s group, in the LMB’s Cell Biology Division and the University of Cambridge’s Molecular Immunity Unit (housed at the LMB), has shown that drugs commonly used to treat heartburn could shorten treatment time of tuberculosis (TB), as well as reduce the likelihood of TB bacteria becoming drug resistant.
