LMB 365 – Day 94

Published on 4 April, 2019

Day 94 of #LMB365 image by Philipp Schlegel (Jefferis lab, Neurobiology Division) shows olfactory projection neurons in the poppy seed-sized brain of the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster. Each dot is one of ~57k axonal presynapses coloured by neuron type. This data was produced through EM reconstruction in collaboration with Davi Bock (Janelia Research Campus) and is used to study circuits for instinctive olfactory behaviour.
