LMB staff share their creative side at the Arts and Crafts Show

Published on 10 August, 2023

Pictures, paintings, drawings and crochet pieces.

Nearly 20 LMB staff have taken part in the annual LMB Arts and Crafts Show. The exhibition, which has run for over 10 years, is a chance for people at the LMB to showcase their creative talents.

The display in the atrium of the building featured work across a wide range of different media including knitting, needlework, scientific painting, highly detailed drawings, models, tapestry, ceramics, mosaics, crochet, prints, jewellery, and homemade cards. Another featured art form was photography and the work of several participants showed travel pictures, natural landscapes, and architecture.

Laura Evans and Ashling Munday, organisers of the show, commented: “We are very honoured to have taken the Art & Crafts baton from David Street this year and we are very pleased with the set-up and the colour it has brought again to the atrium. It’s great that new and returning exhibitioners are displaying their work again at this year’s Arts & Crafts show, which includes various types of arts and crafts, from Lego models and pictures to mosaics in sardine tins! Domestic Services do a great job keeping the building looking beautiful all year round and they have amplified that this year with their team having the most exhibitors in the show, making the atrium look even more picturesque than usual. Again, we thank all of those who participated and shared their creative works.”

The show ran for two weeks and proved popular, with many staff taking time to explore the exhibits. It was a fantastic way for individuals to share their creativity with their colleagues and to liven up the workspace with colour and art.
