Students

The LMB postgraduate students are a truly international and diverse community. Currently more than 100 students at different stages of their 3-4 year training cycle are part of the 450 active research scientists in the lab. Every year 20-30 new graduates from the UK and all over the world join the LMB PhD programme.

Most UK and EU students are supported by Medical Research Council Studentships. Students from overseas are funded either by studentships from their own country or from various Cambridge funds – including the LMB scholarships, the Gates Foundation, the Cambridge Trust, the Herchel-Smith Fund and Cambridge University scholarships.

For undergraduates, 8-12 MRC Student Placements are usually available each year. The lab also hosts Amgen Scholars and College funded summer students.
