Schools Visits to the LMB
Winning schools were invited to bring students to visit the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge for a half-day of science fun. Pupils (and their teachers!) came to find out how science is done in a research lab and to try some experiments for themselves. Last July students came to the lab and looked at diferent types of crystals, extracted DNA from fruit, and experimented with using chromatography to separate coloured molecules. They also learned about protein molecules, viewing structures of them with 3D graphics.
