Dina Ratsimandresy’s journey from rural Madagascar to the LMB’s Light Microscopy Facility

Stellenbosch University highlights Dina Ratsimandresy’s career so far – from studying Mathematics in Madagascar and postgraduate studies in South Africa and Germany, to her current position in the LMB’s Light Microscopy Facility. On top of this, Dina has founded the non-profit organisation Itatra, through which she has delivered the ‘Vision’ outreach programme to rural high schools in Madagascar, introducing students to the field of optics. Mapping neuropeptides used for long-range, wireless communication

C&EN discusses recent research using the nematode worm C. elegans to examine wireless brain communications using neuropeptides. Scott Wilson competes on ‘Super Brain’ game show in front of hundreds of millions of viewers

Scott Wilson, PhD student in Albert Cardona’s group in the LMB’s Neurobiology Division, recently appeared on the popular Chinese game show ‘Super Brain’. Representing the UK, Scott took part in a complex challenge on the popular show which is streamed to hundreds of millions of viewers across China.
